Greater Darlington Convention Center
Located centrally in downtown Darlington, amongst a bevy of hotels, restaurants, and retail establishments, Greater Darlington Convention Center (GDCC) is a beehive of activity.
In one sense this activity is common and re-occuring. In the convention business the name of the game is event scheduling and event branding and every event has something in common with the others. Logistics and branding are absolutely critical to the overall experience. Often the event participants are visitors to the city and so are very interested in information about local attractions.
In another sense the activity at GDCC is ever changing. Every week a different type of event hits the place. Last week it was an RV show. This week it's a corporate event.
In the past, the GDCC have used MS-Powepoint to produce slides for a number of screen displays they use in their facility. But the solution became just too manually intensive and the information they created was just too static to be truly workable.
Robust Content
Instead they found excellent value in developing a robust ScreenScape-powered screen display. They load it up with stock content that fills out the most general and common of communication needs that tend to cut across event. And yet each week, with only a minimal effort, they are able to rebrand their displays and get new custom content into it to serve the more specific and tailored needs of each weeks client. Plus they use multiple dynamic content sources from news and weather feeds to photo services that feature Darlington's tourist attractions.
Using ScreenScape, GDCC has realized great benefits by opening up their displays to the local hotels, restaurants, tourism associations, and retail establishments that are in their local area. These organizations want a chance to speak directly to the attendees of the GDCC's events. Likewise, the attendees want to know what's going on in the area.
Easy to use
It's really a win-win says Event Coordinator Philip Jones. "Our clients are amazed by the unified fit and finish of these displays and by the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the information they convey. We could never have done any of this before ScreenScape came along."
