Downtown Office Towers Inc.
Downtown Office Towers Inc, or DOT, is the property development company behind two small office towers in Lebanon, Tennessee. Site Manager Jeffery Buchanan convinced his board that DOT could use a screen display as a cost-effective way of advancing two strategic goals of the company. Those goals were a) to increase the level of professional service and clearly demonstrate the value they offer their regular office tenants, and b) to find new ways of deriving revenue given their existing constraints.
Professionalism
Buchanan installed four screens at strategic locations in each office tower. He used ScreenScape's content tools to develop a professional, fully branded information display that featured local news, sports, and weather feeds and gave his office the opportunity, at a moment's notice, to send out a system-wide message that all visitors to the towers could receive instantly.
Secondly, he decided to use ScreenScape's open, community-based approach to content sharing to offer free communication services to his existing tenants. An events calendar and daily agenda were the first examples of the service to really get traction.
The screen display in each office tower lent a new level of professionalism to the environment and everyone took notice. Buchanan used the service on a regular basis to remind those within viewing distance of the value-added role the facilities played in supporting business activities.
Collaboration
On a roll, Buchanan then used ScreenScape to browse for like-minded content partners in the area. It turned out that three retail establishments, a restaurant and a bar, all in the neighborhood, were already on ScreenScape and willing to pay for the privilege of sharing their content on the DOT network - after all the people working in DOT's facilities were among the most likely to shop, eat and drink in the local area. It didn't take long before those partners, and many more, were using DOTs screen displays to position their marketing messages.
Buchanan came to the next board meeting with a solid report. He left with a mandate to grow their new line of business.
