Canadian educational institution embraces technology to create a state of the art screen display network across campus
LACOMBE, AB and CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - (February 5, 2010) Canadian University College (CUC) has chosen ScreenScape, an Internet-based Venue Networking solution, as platform provider for their on campus screen display network. CUC has purchased a ScreenScape Enterprise Group License allowing them to create their own branded network using ScreenScape’s Internet-based service.
Colin Hill, Director of Computer Services for CUC commented, “ScreenScape is proving to be a valuable asset for CUC. We are able to create 8 separate accounts and manage them all centrally. Each account serves a different function to promote student services, display information for faculty and staff and serve a range of communication needs for the various departments.”
ScreenScape has been described as “Web 2.0 digital signage”, as it combines professional display authoring tools with the content sharing principles and techniques of social media. A ScreenScape Enterprise License can be used to develop a branded screen display network across a single organization. This allows for the distribution of content to all screens operated by all members within a network. While drawing upon a network administrator’s centralized content distribution capabilities, each individual member can, in addition, create and manage their customized local content.
Hill continued, “ScreenScape rated higher than other solutions we were looking at. Its ease of use sped adoption and made a project of this scale manageable. The results have been fantastic; there has been great feedback from the faculty and student body in regards to the content on the screens. It’s been a challenge in the past to keep our students, faculty, and guests informed of the various activities going on. This has proven to be a valuable communication channel for CUC.”

Features of our group license such as content distribution while allowing for each account to create localized content makes sense for a university setting, where content control can be distributed over the various departments.”
